Our Staff

At Jim Rau Builder, we realize that the difference between our homes and the homes others build is the quality of the workmanship that brought these very homes into existance. That is why our builders are not only state-licensed but also have years of valuable experience to put to work serving you. They put the highest quality of care into every house, day in and day out.

James Rau Nobody at James Rau Builder works harder that the owner himself. Jim, as everyone calls him, still is a very active part of the building process, seeing to it that everything is done according to strict quality standards. He spends a large amount of time on every jobsite. However, when he finds time for a break from work, Jim stays busy with his four children and many grandchildren. He also enjoys running, studying history, and traveling around the United States and the rest of the world.

Mike Rau In the many years Mike has served James Rau Builder, he has either seen or done anything and everything. He joined his brother's company way back in 1979, when Jim was still on his own. These many years of experience show up in his excellent work. Mike and his wife Elaine are the proud parents of six children; Nathan, Ben, Erin, Joel, Leah, and Stephen. In his time away from work, Mike enjoys spending time with his children, hunting, playing golf, gardening, and working around the house.

Rodney RauThough he is the youngest on our small crew, Rodney already has over ten years of full-time experience on the job. When he was still quite young, he spent time cleaning up the houses that his father was building, and in 1998 he started working on the job full-time. Since then he has learned many new things, and is an irreplaceable part of the crew today. Rodney and his wife Julie have two children, Madison and Micah, and live in Grandville. In his spare time, Rodney enjoys playing golf, camping with his family, and woodworking.
